You’ve seen the ads and you’ve probably heard from actual people who have gone to a hypnotherapist to stop smoking. But does it work. Using hypnosis and hypnotherapy to stop smoking can work but you have to believe it will work. You have to be ready to quit and you have to begin to believe that you are a non smoker. You can not go into hypnosis and hypnotherapy to stop smoking and then suddenly go around smokers and go into situations where you used to smoke and expect to never have an urge. Unfortunately, hypnosis is not a miracle cure. Smoking is addictive and it’s a biological addiction as well as a mental addiction. Therefore, you can use hypnosis and hypnotherapy to stop smoking but you also have to be ready to quit and you have to still be prepared for a tough road ahead.

Talk To Your Hypnotherapist

Ask any hypnotherapist and they’ll tell you that hypnosis and hypnotherapy to stop smoking can and does work for some people. But it doesn’t work for everybody. To increase your chances of quitting, you have to be prepared to quit. That means you have to refrain from activities that typically make you smoke. You have to stay out of bars. You have to sit in the non smoking section of restaurants. And you have to stay away from your friends who are smokers, especially if they’re going to smoke around you. You have to get rid of all temptation. Your hypnotherapist will tell you this. As long as you abide by those rules, at least for a while, you can use hypnosis and hypnotherapy to stop smoking.

Believe It Will Work

If you believe that hypnosis will work for you then you have a greater chance of using hypnosis and hypnotherapy to stop smoking. When you are hypnotized, the hypnotist is speaking to your subconscious. This allows him or her to speak to you without your ego getting in the way. You can receive certain instructions and you can even begin to believe certain things. However, when you awaken, you will still have to try for these new instructions and beliefs to take hold. So when you come out of hypnosis, you are going to have to repeat to yourself that you’re a non smoker. You are going to use hypnosis and hypnotherapy to stop smoking and you will never go back to that disgusting habit ever again.
